"El Sueño" versión Catrina Bohemia

Este proyecto "El Sueño" lo empecé en julio del 2020 haciendo estudio de la obra de Picasso, un bosquejo de proporciones,  ajustándolo para que funcione visualmente con La Catrina Bohemia y medio trabajándolo. La semana pasada revisando mis pendientes, me di cuenta que lo tenía pendiente (así como algunos otros proyectos que están esperando para finalizar). No podía esperar más para  terminarlo para agregarlo a mi colección.

• Este cuadro de Picasso, llamado “El sueño” (Le Rêve en francés), fue pintado en 1932, siempre ha llamado mi atención, la mezcla de la figura suave con formas curvas de la mujer en contraste con las pinceladas  duras y lineales del fondo. Los colores, la tranquilidad que  transmite  a le vez la sensualidad y  dulzura de la modelo. Son contrastes que me cautivan.
• “El Sueño” es considerada una de las obras más valiosas del legado de Picasso, la más cotizada de su obra pictórica y la que se ha vendido mas cara.
• Esta obra guarda la historia de amor entre la joven de 17 años, quien sería su modelo-musa, y Picasso (46 años). Picasso conoció a Marie  Therese Walter saliendo de las galerías Lafayette en París; le llevó a una librería para mostrarle ejemplares de su obra y luego vivieron en el “Château de Boisgeloup” donde tenía su estudio y  pasaban largas sesiones de trabajo. En este tiempo aun mantenía relación con su esposa con la bailarina rusa Olga Stepánovna Jojlova, de la cual posteriormente se separó, pero nunca logró tramitar el divorcio.
• Independientemente de muy variadas interpretaciones sexuales acerca del cuadro, que se han hecho posteriormente. Se muestra a una mujer semidesnuda, sentada en un sofá, con sus manos entrecruzadas y la cabeza inclinada hacia el lado derecho. Los ojos de la modelo se encuentran cerrados, mostrando tranquilidad y teniendo algún sueño placentero.
• En esta época comienza a experimentar con el surrealismo, y podemos deducir por la temática y colores de sus pinturas que vivía una etapa de tranquilidad y felicidad .
• Se puede apreciar la transición de estilo  la mezcla de trazos:  gruesos, firmes, estilizados, ondulados  y sencillos en la figura de la modelo, mientras el fondo decorado abundantemente  con  las  formas clásicas cubistas que estaba realizando hasta ese momento.
• El uso del color destaca con respecto a lo usado en su época,  la gama cromática mucho más llamativa, (a veces incluso estridente). Para este cuadro, Picasso hace uso de una paleta de colores vivos, pero agradables a la vista del observador.
• El rostro  es uno de los elementos que más llama la atención, debido también a las interpretaciones de todo tipo que ha recibido a lo largo de los años, muestra dualidad que será uno de los elementos más recurrentes de a partir de esta época.
• En el año 2006  fue vendida  por (139millones de dólares). Antes de ser entregada a su nuevo dueño, el anterior dueño el magnate Steve Wyn, la rompió con un codazo accidentalmente, mientras la mostraba a sus amigos.

Algunos datos curiosos sobre Picasso:

• Nació el 25 de Octubre de 1881, la partera  que lo recibió, pensó que había nacido muerto,  lo colocó en la mesa. Su tío, que fumaba cerca de él, se acercó y al llegarle el humo del cigarro reaccionó.
• Estaba de moda tener nombres largo, así su nombre completo era Pablo Diego José Francisco de Paula Juan Nepomuceno María de los Remedios Cipriano de la Santísima Trinidad Ruiz y Picasso.
• Vivió en varias ciudades  Málaga, la Coruña  Barcelona, Madrid, Paris,
• Su padre también era artista, fue maestro de dibujo y pintaba recurrentemente palomas. Tema que después Picasso representaría constantemente. 
• Su primera palabra fue "piz", empezó a decir “piz, piz”, buscando conseguir un “lápiz”.
• Realizó su primer óleo a la edad de 8 años, titulado “Crepúsculo en el Puerto de Málaga”.
• Era un estudiante rebelde, le costó  mucho trabajo aprender abecedario, se la pasaba en clases dibujando palomas y toros.
• Lo acusaron del robo de la Mona Lisa en el año 1911 cuando el museo se percató de la desaparición, acusaron a Picasso y a Guillaume Apollinaire del robo, y la policía los llamó a un interrogatorio en París. Eran inocentes, pero la policía tenía sus buenos motivos para buscarlos: en el año 1907, el secretario de Apollinaire robó unas estatuillas ibéricas del Louvre, mismas que había comisionado Picasso, y aunque negó saber algo del hurto, se cree que él mismo pudo haber asistido al secretario en el robo. El evento permanecería para siempre en la mente del artista, quien insertó a las estatuillas en sus obras en varias ocasiones.
• El historiador y filósofo Arthur I. Miller escribió que Picasso poseía un revólver cargado con cartuchos de pólvora pero sin balas con el que disparaba aquellos  que le interrogaran sobre el significado de sus pinturas, teorías de la estética o a cualquiera que se atreviera a insultar la memoria de Cézanne.
