Esta divertida versión de "El nacimiento de Venus" disfrute mucho hacerla e imprimirla en playera de algodón. Me gustó el uso de los elementos, los colores, la belleza de la modelo y que es un tema muy femenino.

Es una de las obras más conocidas del pintor florentino Renacentista  Sandro Botticelli.

Te comparto un poco de la historia y datos sobre la obra:

• Fue encargado por Giuliano de Medici  para decorar un dormitorio, el factor sensual y erótico de la pintura corresponde  a decorar el espacio más íntimo de un hogar.
• Estaba dedicada a demostrar el amor imposible que profesaba el noble a Simoneta Vespucci, quien poso como modelo y estaba casada con  Marco Vespucci (pariente de Americo Vespucio) quien la introdujo en el círculo de la nobleza florentina, donde causó una gran admiración. Fue modelo de numerosos artistas, de tal forma que se convirtió en el prototipo de belleza del Renacimiento.
• Es una obra de gran formato mide 2,78m por 1,72 m.
• En esa época se pintaba sobre madera las obras importantes,  y esta obra fue pionera como trabajo importante sobre lienzo.
• Es un tributo pictórico a la diosa romana del amor, el erotismo y la feminidad.
• Además posee elementos que acentúan el carácter femenino, en la parte central ocupada por la concha de mar como un símbolo de fertilidad y el origen de las corrientes oceánicas. Se relaciona con el nacimiento de toda la vida humana,  de la cultura crítica y de la creatividad que vino con el Renacimiento.
• Fue en su tiempo una obra revolucionaria por ser la primera obra de gran formato de tema mitológico,  que presentaba desnudo sin justificarlo por algún componente religioso.Fue duramente criticado y no fue bien visto por la moral de la época.
• Se salvó de las llamas de la Hoguera de las Vanidades en 1497. En este año se quemaron en público miles de objetos considerados pecaminosos. Irónicamente, el propio Sandro Botticelli quemó parte de sus obras alusivas a la mitología, pero ésta fue una excepción.
• Anteriormente se esperaba que las obras fueran un espejo de la realidad,  pero para resolver  la distribución de la obra Botticelli  se toma libertades con la Naturaleza, para dotar de belleza y armonía a la obra, dando tamaño antinatural del cuello de Venus,  la pronunciada caída de sus hombros y en el extraño modo en que cuelga su brazo izquierdo, así se consagra también como artista.
• La primavera y El nacimiento de Venus dieron a Botticelli prestigio como artista. Pero las obras más rentables fueron sus madonas. Obtuvo grandes riquezas gracias a su obra.

This funny version of "The Birth of Venus" I really enjoyed making and printing it on a cotton shirt. I liked the use of the elements, the colors, the beauty of the model and that it is a very feminine theme. • It was commissioned by Giuliano de Medici to decorate a bedroom, the sensual and erotic factor of the painting corresponds to decorating the most intimate space of a home.

• It was saved from the flames of the Bonfire of the Vanities in 1497. In this year thousands of objects considered sinful were burned in public. Ironically, Sandro Botticelli himself burned part of his works alluding to mythology, but this was an exception.
• In this age, it was expected that the works would be a mirror of reality, but to resolve the distribution of the work Botticelli takes liberties with Nature, to endow the work with beauty and harmony, giving the unnatural size of the neck of Venus, the pronounced fall of his shoulders and in the strange way in which his left arm dangles, thus he also consecrates himself as an artist.
• Spring and The Birth of Venus gave Botticelli prestige as an artist. But the most profitable works were his madonnas. He obtained great wealth thanks to his work.
